Quality Metal Roofing Products or Systems To Last a Lifetime

Metal Roofing Products

Are you considering the installation of a metal roof for your home in Metro Vancouver? It’s worth noting that metal roofing products offer a significant advantage: once installed, they never have to be replaced. Unlike traditional asphalt roofs, which typically last between 20 and 30 years, a well-maintained metal roof can endure for upwards of 100 years. Furthermore, even after decades of exposure to the elements, a metal roof can be washed and restored to a brand-new appearance.

Now, let’s address a couple of common myths associated with metal roofs. Firstly, some believe that metal roofs are loud during rain or hailstorms. However, it’s important to clarify that we have never had a client come back to us with complaints about noise after installing a metal roof. Secondly, there’s a misconception that metal roofs are prohibitively expensive. The truth is, if your home has a simple roof design, a metal roof can be a very affordable option.

Don’t let misconceptions hold you back. Consider the long-term benefits and durability of a metal roof for your home in Metro Vancouver.

Laminated Shingle Roofing Products

Asphalt shingle roofing products, commonly referred to as laminated roofing systems, are widely installed throughout Vancouver, BC. The installation of asphalt roofing products offers several advantages: it is often a fast, straightforward, and cost-effective process. On average, the cost of a laminated 30-year shingle roof is around $450.00 per 100 square feet. However, if there are additional requirements such as custom flashings, chimney work, or plywood, the cost may vary accordingly.

For those seeking a higher-grade product, 40-year shingles provide increased durability and come in both standard shapes and architectural styles that mimic the appearance of cedar cuts. Additionally, the highest-grade asphalt shingles we install are the 50-year shingles, featuring a 3-ply system. These premium shingles not only offer exceptional longevity but also enhance the overall aesthetic of your home, giving it a luxurious appearance.

At GVRD Roofing Inc, we prioritize customer satisfaction and stand behind the quality of our work. All the roofing products we install come with a comprehensive installation warranty that can be transferred if you decide to sell your home. Torch on Roofing Systems

One of the most commonly installed flat roofing systems is the torch-on roofing system. Over the past 20 years, there has been a significant shift from tar and gravel to torch-on systems for commercial roofs. Torch-on roofing products offer an excellent solution for flat roofs, whether it’s for residential or commercial buildings. When installed by a professional, torch-on roofs are strong, durable, and capable of withstanding any challenges posed by Mother Nature.

For simple roofing systems, a recovery board or fiberglass matting is typically used to withstand heat. Fire tape, mechanical plates, and screws are commonly employed for plywood applications. The installation process involves a 180 heavy-duty torch-down rubber base sheet, followed by a 250 torch-down cap sheet. The cap sheet is designed with a UV granular system similar to asphalt shingles, providing protection against sun damage. In the case of commercial torch-on roofing systems, a build-up system is utilized, including a vapor barrier, ISO board for insulation, and a 2-ply torch-on layer on top.

Manufacturers typically offer warranties ranging from 10 to 20 years for these torch-on roofing products. In some cases, if your roof is in need of replacement, we may be able to prime the existing cap layer and apply a 1 or 2-layer torch-on system over it, depending on the condition of the existing roof.

What is the cost of installing a roofing products?

Most people imagine a roof is going to be extremely expensive, and ask the question what is the cost of installing a roof in Vancouver today? Well it’s 2022 and the cost of everything has gone up. Even getting materials has become a challenge with supply shortages everywhere. The average cost of a roof will depend on a few things.

  1. How big is my roof?
  2. What type of roofing materials do we want to install?
  3. Is my existing roof 1 layer or multiple layers?
  4. Is there plywood under existing roof, or is it cedar or tile. In the case it has strapping.
  5. Can the roofers access the roof for a bin
  6. Can a Crane truck reach the house to load materials or will they need to load it by hand?

So they are the first questions you should ask. The next question you will ask is what type of roofing materials are out there and what is the difference in price and quality.
